Smarter Than The Average Bear! ^_^

Another major milestone has been reached, ladies and gents...

Yep, I now have over A THOUSAND trophies! Bear Fight, from Sly 2: Band of Thieves for the PS3, has become my 1000th trophy. Sadly, I couldn't snap a shot of it because I forgot to get the Vita ready before I popped the trophy. *sigh* C'est la vie.

But this is a great moment in my career as a trophy hunter - it proves that I am ready to follow in the steps of Commander Carlos and get to 100 trophies, by hook or by Sly Cooper. ;)

More updates with my avatar once the next platinum is mine. I've decided to Platinum the rest of the Sly Cooper collection on PS3 right away so I can return the disc to GameFly, but have fun too.

Journal Entry #20! A major milestone has been reached!

I had a dream last night. I dreamt I was this strange boy with large ears and goggles. His friend had been turned into a talking animal companion.

I dreamt I was fighting this evil sage and his sister and used some powerful light magic called Eco to defeat them, saving the world from being flooded with Darkness.

Then I woke up and found a giant platinum egg with strange runes on it. I translated them to read "Top of the Heap." I felt a thrill - this was my 20th platinum trophy! I put it in the case in a spot of honor and started my plans for the coming months - Valentine's Day would be soon. Sadly, I didn't have any girl to share affections with, but then again, romance is over-rated. ;)

Welp, we hit our first major milestone - 20 platinums! Oh yeah! :D One-fifth of the way to my ultimate goal of a hundred plats.

I spent my grocery savings a bit early this week because I wanted to complete my dream of having the 'mascot trinity'(Ratchet, Sly and Jak) be my next three platinums, at least their first games. After finally getting Ratchet and Clank HD platinumed, I decided "Why not Sly and Jak?" I already had platinumed Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus on Vita earlier but after some hiccups, I got the Sly Cooper Collection for PS3 delivered as a GameFly rental and managed to knock out Sly 1 faster on PS3 since I didn't have clunky controls. So I decided Jak would be my crowning glory.

This game was the first platinum on my last account and I think it deserved #20 on this account as a place of honor. It is an easy game to get into, but not necessarily an easy one to complete, especially if you are very frustrated easily - you'll die so many times it won't be funny. Still, I finally got through the personal demons and cleaned this one up.

I bought the Jak Collection instead of renting it because it was there, and it would let me free up a GameFly slot so I could plat Jak 2 and Jak 3 at my leisure. Yep, spoilers, I do plan on platinuming the first three games of the Mascot Trinity come hell or high water. ;)

Journal Entry #19: Case Files for a Raccoon

As I promised, no more interludes - this time I can finally get back on the Road to 100 Platinums.

#19 - Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus (PS3)

While cleaning up my office, I found the case file for Sly Cooper and decided to peruse it out of curiousity. I got that file a long time ago but had been busy elsewhere.

I looked over the files for this strange mammal-man criminal, Sly Cooper, and examined his background, but I found nothing to implicate him in anything bad; yes, he stole things, but the victims were far worse criminals.

I then got a mysterious mail package but I recognized the symbol on the return address, it was from Sly himself. It was a book which included his past adventures, so I started by reading about his conquest over the Fiendish Five and recovering his family legacy. It was good reading. I took a snapshot and hung it in the Hall of Platinums next to the platinum trophy statue I got earlier.

Platinum Time: February 5th, 2016; 10:11 PM

AFTER THOUGHTS: Yep, I got GameFly to come through and they delivered The Sly Cooper collection for PS3, which has all three games and Sly Minigames, which is probably going to be my first non-platinum trophy list, I didn't realize that Sly Minigames was on the disc! @_2

So I finally got Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus for both platforms. I would like Jak and Daxter to be #20, but I have a policy of no more than a month with rented games - I know GF has no late fee but I want to respect them for helping me get the game after the first delivery failed, so I have to plat through the other games as well ASAP. We'll see.

A mini-rant

I am getting really annoyed - two of the games I have rented via GameFly have gone AWOL and I had to reissue the order to get them. I blame the Postal Service - they must have replaced the guy who handles IMPORTANT mail with a teenaged slacker. X(

As such I wasn't able to get the games I wanted and now LEGO MARVEL Avengers is out, which ticks me off even more as I can't play it on launch!

I know, I know, I SHOULD be working on these titles, but I am autistic and that makes it hard for me to handle games this complex. :(

One of my old favorites is now on the list, thanks to Sony Entertainment.

OH COME OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON!!!!

I KNOW I HAVEN'T PLAYED THIS GAME IN, LIKE... SEVEN YEARS, BUT SERIOUSLY? KILLING ME IN THE FIRST BATTLE!!!??? X(

As you can guess, Sony has ported Dark Cloud 2 to the PSN store for a cheap price of $14.99, so I can hear the wails of anguish as PS2 owners have to burn their antique copies of this game. ;D

I loved this game as a kid and it's what got me as a Level-5 fanatic - the graphics and story-telling is sublime and now that Level-5 has teamed up with Studio Ghibli, more fun times abound.

And yes, Dark Cloud 2now has a platinum trophy attached to it, and to get it you will have to earn ALL of the medals in the game, so expect lots of cussing when I do Spheda or fishing. :p

We'll resume the adventures soon, I promise. My avatar is... resting for a while.

Matter of Honor

Well, I've been challenged to a platinum race of honor by Kochiya Shana from PSNProfiles.com. It all started when I got the idea to have a 'friendly competition' with her from watching Commander Carlos talking about his 'friendly competition' with his pals and said "If I lose, I have to plat this and this game."

I ended up with foot-in-mouth syndrome and offended her a lot. She eventually said I couldn't back my words and she said she'd challenge me to a platinum race. What a platinum race is is basically who gets the most platinum trophies by the end of the year.

Luckily, she put some rules down so nobody gets an unfair advantage:

• The event ends on New Year's Ever, 2016, just one minute before midnight. This makes it so we have plenty of time to catch up.
• The only games which are banned from this event are games from Telltale(like The Walking Dead and the Wolf Among Us) and Visual Novels and any games which have completion times of under twelve hours. This is to discourage trophy whoring, so no Hannah Montana or Megamind or anything like that.
• All platinums earned from New Year's Day of this year onward count. Kochiya has four and I have nine as of this post.
• Finally we will be scored based on number of platinums with an extra point to a platinum if it is an ultra-rare(aka less than 10% of people have earned it) at the end of the event, and we'll have the forum members vote on who earned the best platinums at the end.

She also refuses to punish me for losing - she said she preferred to take my pride over anything else. Well, I don't have a lot pride in myself, but this is a 'friendly competition', so no bad feelings to the loser, which I am sure is going to be me, foot-in-mouth. I have a bad habit of getting myself banned from forums because I say things I shouldn't, and I really want to avoid losing my account on PSNProfiles.com, as that's the only way I can keep track of my trophies. :(

OH MY GAWD!

(Cue: "Time is Changing.")

Yep, probably one of my favorite PS2 games has been ascended to trophy whore on the PS4.

Recently, Sony has come up with a new system - they KNEW that the PS2 had some of the most awesome games in video gaming history... doomed to dust when the PS3 and PS4 arrived with their shiny trophy hunting system...





NO MORE.

LEVEL 5, the creators of these games, has given rights to Sony to import their classic RPGs - the Dark Cloud series and Rogue Galaxy, all of which I grew up with - to a special PS4 edition series - digital purchase on PSN only - which has kicked off Project Reboot, which reboots many old PS2 classics onto the PS4 and gives them trophy lists. Yes, you actually earn platinum trophies for 100% of these games! This means more fun games to plat and less chance you have to sit through Hannah Montana. XD

I will be putting these games on my list, I promise. I went through high school with these games and to not get the platinum in them, even though they are hard as heck, is a sin! Also, Psychonauts (another game I loved) has plans to come out in Project Reboot too so expect that showing up on the list when I get the money to buy it on PSN.
